The National Eczema Association has awarded the Seal of Acceptance to the products listed.

The importance of moisturizing cannot be over emphasized as a treatment for eczema and sensitive skin. Moisturizers maintain skin hydration and barrier function. Generic petroleum jelly and mineral oil (without additives) are two of the safest, most effective moisturizing products.

Special Note:  Nut oils and some natural ingredients can raise allergy issues for some individuals, and be of concern for pediatric patients. Each Seal of Acceptance Review will alert consumers to the presence of nut oils and similar natural ingredients.  Contact your medical professional for guidance.

The Cetaphil® Moisturizing Cream contains 2% almond oil. The Cetaphil® DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating Lotion contains both macadamia ternifolio nut oil (1.5%) and butyrospermum Parkii (shea butter). Nuts oils may be of concern as it relates to potential food allergies.

The Cetaphil® Gentle Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil® Moisturizing Cream both include the ingredient propylene glycol. This ingredient is a potential irritant at high concentrations, but present at concentrations thought to be insignificant for most patients.

Different skins respond differently, and the same skin will respond differently to different stages of the eczema.
