How does NEA use personal information?
The National Eczema Association respects the privacy of its online visitors. We do not collect personally identifiable information from a visitor unless they provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. We do not require you to provide any information to us in order to view our site.
The National Eczema Association only gathers information that would identify the user (such as names, addresses, zip/postal codes, e-mail addresses, etc.) when the visitor voluntarily submits the information. The only time this information is requested is when the visitor subscribes to a mailing list, orders a publication or registers for an event. The information is used solely by the National Eczema Association for internal purposes, and it is never sold to a third party.
NEA uses your personal information to provide you with information that you request, including brochures and newsletters, and to inform you of support group and awareness activities. NEA does not sell, rent or divulge personally identifiable information to anyone unless required by law.
What Security Measures are in place?
All contact with NEA is encrypted through the NEA website. Personal information provided by users can include names, addresses, phone numbers and emails but not social security numbers or other identifiable financial information. In addition we have the benefit of the web management company and the security system they provide. All information is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets browsers automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before it is sent.
The NEA database of information is only available to NEA staff in the NEA office and is not on any mobile device including laptops. NEA staff can only access the database with secure passwords in the secure office computers.
All Enews sent to users allows people the right to unsubscribe.
